Vision
A society where youth are respected as powerful leaders and active community members.
Mission
The mission of Youth Voices and Vision is to encourage and foster minority youth leadership. The program will equip youth to become members of society who will positively and proactively impact the communities in which they live.
Who can participate?
The program will be implemented in Cabarrus County in the Piedmont region of North Carolina and in Lenoir County in Eastern North Carolina.
During the program students in grades 5-12 will have the opportunity to:
- Lead or attend workshops led by young people
- Address issues that concern youth and their peers
- Participate in youth town hall meetings with elected officials
- Participate in regional issues summits and programs
- Collect information and resources from organizations that serve young people
- Acquire skills that will help youth turn a project idea into reality.
